Not the Blue Moon

Actually an impression from memory of the first full moon in August. Two versions presented because of my cheap camera and far less than state-of-the-art editing software.
The first one shows more detail and a more accurate sky color.

The second one, a little blurrier, has a less accurate sky color - a little too purple - but it shows a few of the crimson dabs I put in the shadows.

6"x8" oil on canvas panel

The limbs and leaves were translated from direct observation in daylight.

Very well caught this moonlight A.Decker friend, smelling the hot nights of August.
As I wrote our poet Alberto Caeiro
(Heteronym Fernando Pessoa).

"Moonlight Through the Ups and branches"

The moonlight through the branches high,
All the poets say that it is more
The moonlight through the high branches.
But for me, I do not know what to think,
What the moonlight through the branches high
It is, besides being
The moonlight through the branches high,
It is no longer
The moonlight through the high branches.

With a hug.
